The Rioselva Travel 4-Day Putumayo Tour brings together in a single itinerary what would normally take weeks to discover on your own. It all begins in Puerto Asís with an agrotourism experience at Finca La Fortuna: a canoe ride, hands-on preparation of a traditional fiambre campesino, and a visit to the only coca museum in Colombia with a real story of crop substitution — an experience that exists nowhere else in the country. On the second day, you ascend to the Fin del Mundo waterfall, where the Andean and Amazonian ecosystems merge in a free fall of over 70 meters, crystal-clear pools, and trails accompanied by primates and jungle birds. The night closes with a three-course dinner prepared by a local chef using native Amazonian ingredients in Mocoa. Itinerario

Day 1: Welcome & Finca La Fortuna

  • To start this tour, we recommend arriving in Puerto Asís early in the morning. Our team will be there to welcome you and assist with your luggage as we kick off the journey.
  • Our first activity invites you to discover rural Amazonian life on an agrotourism experience at Finca La Fortuna, where a local family will guide you through a canoe ride, followed by a hands-on class to prepare an authentic fiambre campesino. We'll explore Amazonian fruit crops and visit the Coca Museum to learn the story of one family's transformation from illicit crop farming to a legal, sustainable livelihood. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase locally transformed Amazonian products such as sweets and chocolates made from regional fruits
  • In the afternoon, we travel to Mocoa (approx. 2 hours). Accommodation at a lodge that blends urban comfort with a rural atmosphere.

Day 2: Fin del Mundo

  • We head to Fin del Mundo — a natural treasure where the Andean and Amazonian ecosystems meet, creating awe-inspiring landscapes and captivating natural pools. We'll ascend through forest trails accompanied by primates and local birds, pausing to taste fresh sugarcane juice and learn the fascinating history of this place. We'll cross the Dantayaco River and reach a natural viewpoint to take in the majestic waterfall of over 70 meters, with an optional canyoning experience for the more adventurous. We finish by relaxing in crystal-clear pools before enjoying lunch inside a cave with a spectacular view, then begin our descent.
  • After this nature experience, we'll visit an indigenous family where the Taita will offer a harmonization ceremony using sacred incense and aromatic essences — a grounding energy experience you can only feel in Putumayo.
  • In the evening, we'll enjoy a unique culinary experience with a local chef who blends native Putumayo ingredients into a three-course menu celebrating the essence and culture of the Amazon.

Day 3: Adventure & Culture in Puerto Limón

  • The day begins with a visit to the vibrant local market, where you'll find handicrafts, exotic fruits, and handwoven textiles that capture the essence of Putumayo.
  • We then head to Puerto Limón — a village where Afro-Colombian, indigenous, and settler cultures converge. We kick off the adventure with a boat ride to two sacred waterfalls for a refreshing swim, then descend the river on tubes through a stunning jungle landscape. Back in the village, we'll enjoy a traditional Afro-Colombian lunch with Doña Rafaela and explore the town's colonial history. We close the day by connecting with indigenous culture alongside the grandmothers, sharing dances and ancestral traditions.
  • In the late afternoon, we settle into a lodge on a nature reserve run by a local family, then head out for a night safari in search of reptiles and amphibians — uncovering the secret life of the jungle after dark.

Day 4: Donde se Oculta el Sol Nature Reserve

  • After breakfast, we'll explore the Donde se Oculta el Sol Nature Reserve — a biodiversity sanctuary in the Andean-Amazonian corridor. We'll walk trails beneath lush canopy trees, then take a dip in the Mohano waterfall to recharge. (Duration of the activity will depend on available time.)
  • We'll then head to Villagarzón or Puerto Asís airport for our farewell.
